Avoid FEAR response by teaching pain help requesting

Wise Parenting: ready them for surgery and healing.

It is not  healthcare providers' job to teach the child-patient pain care words.  The schools don't teach pain care vocabulary either.

It is the parent's job.  The parent teaches how to deal with healthcare; how to get help for their pain.  MPA tools to get their needs across: Clear pictures, easy ASL signs, and words.

Empower Kids For Pain

This one of a kind book was created by three Moms for people who need pain communication help but are:  too young, too memory challenged, overwhelmed by being asked to rate their pain on a 10 level scale,  or confused by emojis. Commonly used  pain scales require remembering a previous pain experience and comparing it.   Those scales were validated on children without separating non-readers from readers. Our scale is simpler and faster to use for everyone, especially a child patient receiving surgery.

Every Child Patient can benefit from our children's picture book: Bea - the Best Kind of Patient

Amazon carries our new children's picture book: Bea - the Best Kind of Patient, and the original set of stories to help patients of all ages: My Pain Alert Scale Communication Tool.  KOBO.com and Apple books carry My Pain Alert Book as a fixed layout ePub download.  Put the 6.1 Mb download  on your iPad through iTunes,  so you always are prepared to get the right communication help for pain. Families using My Pain Alert(TM) Scale have saved time and effort getting the child patient or older limited communicator’s pain under control.  Little children were able to use learned communication help words with their parents, so the best action could be done immediately.  Older children came out of surgery  requesting the exact pain management they needed, resulting in a shorter than previous hospital stay.
